How to make icicles

A quick step-by-step guide on how I make icicles.

For this you will need a long stip of straight plastic or balsa or even a toothpick, the clear plastic from a blister pack and Vallejo's Water Texture.

For this project I first built a frame out of an old strip balsa wood and glued on 2 pieces of foam card and cut grooves out along the top. You'll need this for srying purposes.

Cut the blister pack plastic into triangular shapes and then glue to the long strips.

Using an old brush start applying the water texture quite heavily to the triangular shapes on both sides then leave to dry. It will appear crystal clear when dry.

Repeat this process by adding more bulk to the centre of the triangle so that it begins to resemble a cone.

After about 5 or 6 applications you should get some good results

Once dry cut away from the plastic strip and glue to your terrain. Superglue or PVA will do the job
